QWhy did you decide to join Shibata Kako Sekkei?
I was working as a dispatch worker and was considering joining other companies, but I decided to join this company because I thought I would be able do what I want to do here, based on discussions about my pathway to becoming a regular employee as well as the fact that my abilities were highly rated.
QWhat are your current responsibilities?
I am now responsible for piping analysis and support evaluations for nuclear power plants and nuclear-related reprocessing plants.
The analysis software I use depends on the object being analyzed, but I conduct seismic and thermal analysis.
Although I sometimes run analysis software and check the results myself, I mainly do administrative tasks, such as coordinating and confirming policies with customers and issuing work instructions to my subordinates.

QWhat kind of company is Shibata Kako Sekkei?
I think the company is open, transparent, and friendly.
There is a sense of tension compared to my previous job, but there is also a sense that we want to have fun while working.
We have an environment that makes it easy to talk to your superiors, and there is a sense of closeness,
so it's easy to talk to my superior about any concerns I have.
In that sense, I think we've managed to develop excellent interpersonal relationships.
My superior also checks my work more thoroughly than I thought they would when it comes to work-related evaluations.
They communicate this further up the ladder and ensure that it is properly linked to the overall evaluation.
QFields which you would like to study in the future and things that are important to you in your work
Since I do structural analysis, I will continue to study mechanics of materials and structures,
but I am interested in and keeping an eye on various other fields, such as filming for VR, as other groups in the company are doing.
Exploring such new things, beyond the limits of the world you know, is what makes it fun, and I think that having this attitude is important.

Developing the right atmosphere is also important.
I think it's difficult for new employees to talk to us, so I take the initiative to talk to them. Even if the young employees are talking among themselves about things unrelated to work, I don't stop them because it'd be suffocating for them to only talk about work.
This is because I believe that a fun work atmosphere is definitely for the best.
QHow do you spend your time after work or on days off?
My third child was just born, and he's really cute.
It's hard for me to play with my children on weekdays, so I do so on weekends.
Once a week, when my wife attends her lessons, I head home early and take care of our three children.
When it's busy at work, I feel sorry for the other members of the team, but I hope they'll forgive me because I only take off once a week to refresh myself.
And then there's food.
My wife also enjoys eating, so we both look for restaurants that seem delicious and go out to eat together.

MESSAGE A message to students

Please try out various things without being afraid of failure.
I also hope that you'll cherish the knowledge and experiences you gain from doing so, and the connections you make with the various people you interact with.
I'm sure that they will give you confidence and support you once you become a working adult.
I believe that if you have a broad perspective and can think flexibly, you can make it anywhere in the world.
